JC Leyendecker was a painter/illustrator who, between 1896 and 1950, painted more than 400 magazine covers and pretty much revolutionized the magazine cover as we know it. His work is almost painfully stylish, and I adore everything of his that I’ve come across since discovering him. To see more (why wouldn’t you?) click the cut.
